STARTING WITH WHY

Being a coffee enthusiast and sharing the same views where we'd share our views and taste.

We started roasting our own coffee beans out of curiosity. During the MCO period, it was difficult for us to maintain the coffee beans orders from our suppliers. Due to the no dine-in was allowed, only relying on takeaways and deliveries during that time and the growth of home brewers has resulted in our coffee orders to drop quite significantly. 

Due to low volumes, we struggled to maintain the freshness of each bag of coffee beans we ordered. In consideration of solving the short-term issue, we decided to explore into roasting our own coffee beans. After extensive research and understanding the basic of roasting coffee beans, we ordered some raw beans online and started experimenting using a frying pan with direct heat and using a multifunction oven.

The process of getting our first roast done was absolutely tough as we end up with super dark roast beans in our first few attempts as the heat was difficult to control.

Nevertheless, we went through numerous trial and errors and finally got our first batch right. Slowly, we mastered our way to roasting conventionally with the multifunction oven. However, there were many manual tasks such as cooling down the beans and removing the chaff from the beans and we had to manually sort out all the uneven beans.

Moving on to date, we have finally own a decent roaster and we’re moving forward with our journey in exploring the uncommon, sharing the views and tastes that we like, building a coffee lifestyle community where coffee meets style.
